It's that time of the year...

I'm looking for Winter Pictures, rounding up my favorite photobooks, and planning an Ansel Adams giveaway. Plus, our Saul Leiter book winners!

It’s official: Winter is here!

We got our first snowfall in Madison a few days after Thanksgiving. It didn’t stick, but we know more will be here soon. I’m one of those folks who doesn’t want to hear Christmas music before Thanksgiving, but after the turkey has been served, it’s fine with me. We bought our tree on Saturday and trimmed it yesterday afternoon. Naturally, the first tunes we broke out were Vince Guaraldi’s Charlie Brown Christmas. It’s so good! I will never tire of this album. It’s a classic.

My 2017 FlakPhoto Booklist

For many years, I wrote a FlakPhoto Books of the Year list. It was a fun way to highlight some of my favorite photography books and to drive some eyes to the bookmakers I admire.
