Argh no!

I’d rather get your content in a newsletter or on insta. Can’t face another app and in a chat app you get, er, too much chat!!

So wouldn’t work for me, but others might like it.

This is helpful, Sarah. You're the second person to write saying they prefer email. I'm listening!

I'm so disillusioned with social these days. I prefer email for all info - especially anything important!

Noted. Thanks, Deborah!

None of the above. I prefer Substack for newsletters, not this type of interaction. I'm on Mastodon and Bluesky for personal social media, LinkedIn for work, but photography is not my job. I don't chat on the Internet.

Me too... Chat app is generally confined to friends and family... Prefer to seek out newsletters / articles on stuff on internet.

Thanks, Graham.

TMI, don’t need a chat app for a community, only use chat for f&f. Thank you Andy.

Discord would be my thought. Belong to many communities on there, none of which are video gaming.

No Social please. Email newsletter is best.

Thanks for the note, Kishor.

My vote is email, too. I agree with the comment that chat is reserved for friends and family.

For chat I mainly use Apple Messages. Of the ones you suggest, only Signal seems reasonable. I will never use anything connected to Facebook.

It's a big no from me Andy. Like what you do but Substack/ email is the best place, and only place.

Good to know. Thanks, Tim!

Substack email is great and preferred. Discord is also a good platform for community and chat

I would not want this to clutter any of my chats. A private FB group that people need to join with some kind of validation or the substack free feed that I already get in email with a link to a subscriber level of service for more details is my suggestion if you don't want it to be 100% public..

Thanks for the note, Bob!

I love your newsletter, Adam. So valuable for me and also the community! Most importantly it does not depend on any algorithm. Keep up the great work!

Andy Adams's avatar

Thank you, Christian! PS: It’s Andy — Andy Adams. No worries, the Adam/Andy thing happens all the time ;)

Christian Gogolin's avatar

Sorry, Andy. Of course! That's what happens when you try to do lots of things at the same time...😳

Don’t sweat it!

I have to agree with the email option. I'm not going to be loading up another new app. Probably the best reason for email is that you don't need to go to an app, it's just there in the in-box. And you can do with it what you will.

This is a good insight and one I'm taking to heart. Thanks, Victor.
