“There’s so much love in this building.”
I’ll keep this intro brief because I want you to go in cold, as I did. Like many people, I spend a few hours each week watching YouTube. Algorithms can be easy to dislike, but sometimes they deliver exactly what you need right when you need it.
That happened today when I stumbled upon Cory Jacobs and Jason Schmidt’s documentary about The Candy Factory, a creative community maker space in Brooklyn. Art people are my people, and I admire those folks who dedicate their lives to creating things. If that sounds like you, you’re going to love this film.
You can read more about The Candy Factory here, but I’d suggest doing that after seeing the film. It’s lovely and the less you know, the better. It charmed me, and I expect it will do the same for you. As always, let me know what you think in the comments. Cheers!
Call for COLOR
I’m still looking for COLOR and plan to publish my first feature in a few weeks. Thanks to everyone who sent in submissions! There are some remarkable images coming in, and I can’t wait to share them with you. This picture by Paolo Ippolito knocked my socks off. If you have something colorful in your archive, please email me!
When I win the lottery, this will be my plan!
Postscript was a gut punch.
I saw this yesterday- great. This could and should be a full-length doc. This is the story of the moment- unless nurtured and protected, art will vanish.
