After seeing a parade of “fancy lens” shots your round up showed as much the wonder of the universe as the wonder of human creativity.

Enjoyed this roundup, Andy! I deliberately chose not to take pictures and instead experienced totality without my camera - I don't regret it one bit but I'm still jealous of some of these shots!

I do love a photo roundup - what a fun way to see the eclipse through so many people's eyes/lenses! This post really made me feel connected, even though I wasn't able to be in the path of totality for this eclipse. Thanks for sharing, and for all the great links!

Fun post! I too have been enjoying the eclipse vicariously through those posting their cool shots on social media platforms and it was nice to see a varied collection here — with jaunty text too.

Such a fun curated list. Thanks for finding them and guiding us through them with your narration.

The view I had of the eclipse was not as shocking as these photos but the wonderment was just as real. The photos you found helped me relive and appreciate the moment even more.

Loved all the pictures. I’m fortunate enough to live in the path of totality. Seeing the eclipse was breathtaking.

Yes, I enjoyed this roundup and how it was presented. I happened to be scheduled for a residency in the path of totality so I did some research to prepare and decided to try photographing it as a personal challenge. Firing the shutter every 7 minutes for two hours and then getting the timings for the classic shots turned out to be absorbing and there’s a sense of accomplishment staying with the process and getting that classic shot with the pink flares with my 17-year-old 300mm zoom lens (does that qualify as “fancy”?). Even if the photos ARE for the most part like the ones in the cartoon :-)
