Love the photos you've been choosing for your wintery season. I've been a bit more open-minded this year when it comes to colder weather. Even though back home we do get winters, I'm beginning to realize that proper American winters are completely different and require a certain amount of grit and patience. But I'm happy to be spending it in NYC.
Excited to see more images come in, Happy Holidays your way.
I really enjoyed your article. Unfortunately climate warming is leading to a lack of snow for several years now. It's January 8 and we haven't seen snow except on the TV news. I miss freezing my hands on the camera in my desire to capture the vulnerability of a plant in the snow. Or the trees in the woods next door to my house.
Physically I hate winter, but I find it visually compelling. It changes the landscape, creates a layer to look through and is, to me, more solitary and reflective.

Great article. Unfortunately I can’t share your love of winter. I spent 20 winters in Montréal and that didn’t help 😊
Ha! I hear you. Happy New Year, Leanne!
