Located in Ames, Iowa. My recent work has taken me to Hartford, CT to lead a workshop on SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) Photography. The crazy part of it is that when you shoot electrons at an insect oftentimes the hairs or scales will move like they are in the wind. Very unnerving but cool. Just published a book on pumas and am working on a new photo book that uses microscope and macro photography!

Hello! I'm currently in Hamilton, ON, Canada. I've been making images of older buildings that are either slated for demolition or transitioning into something else (like part of a condo development). I'm printing these on cyanotype treated fabric, then cutting, stitching, bleaching, etc. Basically deconstructing these buildings which are about to be deconstructed or significantly altered. Thanks for all you do to promote photography!

Well Andy, this feels like the perfect excuse to figure out what and who I am, so here goes nothing!

I like to think of myself as a retired 32-year-old crisis and disaster manager. But not retired in the traditional sense. I still want to work and contribute to the world, but retired in the sense that, through recovering from burnout, I discovered I’m actually a gentle person who was completely ill-suited to the harsh industry I had built my life around.

I came to realise that much of my anxiety had pushed me into living in a constant state of chaos, trying to fix the world’s problems as a way of escaping the ones in my own mind and body.

And that brings me to today: living in the rural Scottish Highlands, reconnecting with myself through the creative outlets I had once repressed. Now, I explore the feelings I used to run from, through writing, photography, and learning to live a slower, more intentional life.

It’s the first time I’ve truly let myself feel the pull of creativity, and I’ve got to say… I’m having a blast.

Nice to meet you, Dan — and good for you for finding your place. Where in the Highlands are you?

I'm a New Yorker and a former entertainment lawyer/artist manager that transitioned into a career in fine art photography after overcoming cancer. I have two strands of photography. There's photography of historical sites and at-risk habitats under commissions from the National Park Service. The other strand is street photography (mostly New York City). To me, they are both related. You can see some of my work at www.xiomaro.com

I am active with exhibitions and television appearances as I like how photography can provoke deeper conversations. This spring, I'm photographing George Washington Birthplace National Monument in Virginia. This fall my publisher will be releasing my second book, "Street Photography of New York City: Street Haunting in the Big Apple." As we approach the nation's 250th anniversary, I'm hoping these photographs will spark an appreciation for the more virtuous model of our first president and for the diversity of our country as seen in the multicultural environment of Manhattan.

Boston based, and my current project is wading through my old sketchbooks, photo books and miscellaneous scribbles on scrap paper to figure out what my next personal project might be, while struggling to avoid being overwhelmed by my current perceptions of the world. Actually, other than the world thing, pretty typical of me when I feel one project is at its conclusion. Then again, I haven’t made a zine yet. That might be fun.

Hi Andy - I’m a photographer with a small ‘p’. Quite ordinary but love it. I live in the small UK village of Goostrey in Cheshire. Again, ordinary except for being the home of the Jodrell Bank Observatory World Heritage Site. I am working more on projects and particularly in relation to environmental damage (there is some beauty in that) and lost heritage. I enjoy making my own zines and have a zine and book buying habit.

Love your questions. I'm a photogrpaher. I live in Washington DC and summer in Maine where I do most of my image making. The sea in all its fury and gentle moods is like a magnet to me. For a change of scenery I flew over to Dingle, Ireland to the majestic cliffs and wild seas. It did not disappoint. But then,.... since water is never still, new image possibilities are never wanting. Oh and did I mention the magnificent rock formations. For these I turn to Macro.

Allyson Klein from Los Angeles but I live in Northern Ireland. I’m a bit all over the place with photography but keep plodding along. I love people and landscapes and interesting details, just to name a few, and let my curiosity do the thinking.

I’m Professional Photographer & Camera Operator based in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Currently working on various clients professional projects. I’m most excited to continue working on my personal project with my business partner Carina Mask. We are documenting farmers and artists in rural Japan. We are doing this with both still photos and video interviews. The goal is to highlight and share stories of how we are all interconnected with each other and mother nature. A great reminder that it really does take a village for us to succeed.

Hi Andy, I'm an Italian business consultant and commercial photographer (mostly still-life), based in a small town between Bologna and the coastline. Whenever I can, however, I take pictures on film (from 35mm up to 4x5) of the man altered landscapes in my surroundings. I really love shooting and developing film!

I'm a photographer based on the Puget Sound region of Washington State. I'm currently very busy with raising 4 young kids, so my photography is mostly documenting my life and the places around me. I have been casually working on a project I'm calling "Suburban Dreams" that explores the complex relationship between the suburbs and modern American culture.

I’m currently caught in the vortex of an alternate universe known as local government. In my preferred universe I’m an architectural designer, urban designer, and cultural archivist that takes many mediocre photos and accidentally takes a great one - I’d like to turn that math around. My first camera was a Pentax K1000, my dad’s Nikon, and a medium format camera that were all stolen shortly after college. The relationship I built with those cameras was strengthened by many hours in darkrooms. The theft forced me into digital which allowed me to take more pictures but I fear I lost the momentum I had to take better pictures. Will your book help? Do you have suggestions for other ADHD friendly reads that could help me???thanks
