Hey everybody, I’ve been out of touch for a few days, and I’m not used to going more than a week without writing. I was in Washington, D.C., last week for a work event. Apologies for the radio silence. I hope everyone is doing well out there.
I’ve got a handful of things lined up before the end of the year, but on the flight home last Friday, I realized that I hadn’t written a Five Photographers post in a while, so here we are. I’ve also been kicking around a new idea, and I wanted to float it here.
Call for FlakPhoto Curators
I like curating photography and love learning about new artists. But I don’t know what I don’t know. So, in 2025, I plan to open the newsletter to other curatorial voices by inviting artists, photographers, and curators to contribute to these Five Photographers features. That way, I get to see something new, and you will, too. I want to diversify the perspectives here and use this platform to showcase work that might not be seen elsewhere.
How to apply
I may formalize the application process over time. For now, you can write me directly if you want to work with me on something like this. Please email me and tell me about yourself and the kinds of images you will show here if we work together. Thanks in advance for your interest. I’m eager to hear from you!
As always, please let me know if you know someone I should feature here. I'm always looking and love seeing new images. If you're new to FlakPhoto Digest, please subscribe! And if you like what you see, give these folks a follow. They'll appreciate the audience, and you'll have some new inspiration in your IG feed. Enjoy!
One more thing…
A reminder that we’re screening the third and final installment of our fall photography film series at ArtLitLab this week. We’ll show Paul Sng’s film, Tish, in Madison on Thursday, December 12. This is a free event, and everyone is welcome. Join us!
Hi Andy,
Here is a link to my latest "Collective" edition.
It features 46 photographers who are part of my mentorship group.
All of them are worth taking a look.
This book will give you a couple of images per.
NOTE: This group is more commercially focused than art.
Appreciate all you do for photographers.
