Something beautiful
Robert Darch pictures summertime bliss
Can you believe it’s already July?
Summer is flying by. Life has been too busy around here, and I’m ready for the weekend. I’ve been editing another piece on AI and photography that I hoped to publish today, but life and work have been too much, so it will have to wait until next week. Still, I wanted to drop a line and share something beautiful to close the week, an image that might lift your spirits as we wind things down.
I’m looking at Robert Darch’s photography again this morning and thought you’d appreciate this picture. It’s summertime in a nutshell and the vibe I’m craving today. Turn off your mind, relax, and float downstream, right?
This kid’s got it figured out — bliss, if you ask me.
Make some time to explore Rob’s website when you have a moment. He’s a very talented imagemaker, and he’ll appreciate your eyes. I’ll leave you with this: Rob’s latest post about photographing storms:
I’ve got to knock off a few more things today, and then I’m logging off to enjoy Fête de Marquette, one of our annual neighborhood music festivals and my favorite event of the year. Maybe I’ll see some of you there?
Take care, friends!

Thank you!
Beautiful photo. I decided to start a practice of noticing my everyday with intention, learning how to be more present and document the everyday. Exactly for the reason you mention - time flies by so quickly and we’re constantly busy. But maybe there’s a way to fit in some kind of practice that will help us memorize what we would forget otherwise? The seemingly unimportant bits that actually create a meaningful life. If any of you would like to join me, we start on Sunday, July 12. Writing, photography, sketching - anything you choose. With weekly prompts and inspirations. I hope we make this summer last 🤗
