Remembering Hiroshima
81 years after the atomic bomb
Hey friends, I’ve been away camping for the past few days, so I don’t have anything new to share this week. But today, August 6, 2026, is the 81st anniversary of the U.S. atomic bombing of Hiroshima, so I wanted to revisit a piece from a few years ago.
I don’t usually mention my work at Outrider Foundation, but this post gives you a look at what I do professionally. Unfortunately, the nuclear threat is still very real. I hope you’ll take some time to look at these images this week. They are haunting.
Take care of yourselves, folks, and be well. I’ll be back with something new next week.

How great to have a key job with an organization whose objectives completely align (I imagine) with your own!!! Given how many hours we devote to working, there is nothing better than being in the right place. Congratulations.
Excellent piece, Andy. The portraits were wonderful, as well. Thanks for sharing!
