Beautiful post, as ever. It makes sense to me that you should love both the photographic image and the painted image. There is probably more that unites than differentiates them.
Hi Andy! Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful and meaningful endeavours! Be they your own creation or fostering someone else’ art, they resonate with every artist’s soul. Bravo!
Randall’s magical illusions are so true, much more and much better than current life. I’d rather dive into these beauties and emerge in a different era!
I’d really love to have Randall’s book despite of the nightmare of having something dispatched to Europe nowadays… Could you help me with that? Thanks so much and congratulations to both of you!
Hi Simonetta! Randall's books arrived this week, and we launched them with a public program yesterday. They look amazing, and we would love to send you a copy. Please email me at flakphoto@gmail.com, and I can connect you with Randall for a signed copy. Talk soon!
What a brilliant reminder that creativity and art bind us together in ways we don’t always realise at the time. And in an age when polarisation is the currency of those who place themselves in charge of things, the way in which nuance is crushed, art is the meeting place where lovers of photography support magical realists, where the differences are set aside for the human part, for the gathering of folk to view and engage with art and artists. Great work, Andy. Madison feels like a special corner indeed.
Beautifully said, as always, Barrie. You would enjoy Randall's company—he is a tender soul. I was over at his studio yesterday putting the finishing touches on our Saturday program and saw the first copies of his new book. They are gorgeous. I would love more people to hear about his work. Maybe you'd consider showing some of his pictures in your newsletter. Thank you for looking!
How wonderful that you managed to collaborate in this way. Great backstory. Yes, there is so much that links art and photography; it is often on my mind.
Hi Alan, I'm afraid this event won't be livestreamed. But these books are available, and I'm sure. Randall can ship them anywhere in the world. I saw the first copies yesterday, and they are gorgeous. Thanks for looking!
Moving background history.
Your newsletters are a sliver of light in the encroaching darkness.

I’ve bookmarked your post with exactly that in mind, Andy. Watch this space!

Loved this, Andy. Is there any chance the event might be livestreamed? Madison is a long way from Gatineau... 😉
