Instagram is about attention, not photography. And that, for most people, is the point. I feel the only way we can "return" to the old days of a small group of people interested in photography is to reconcile ourselves to the fact that we are a tiny minority, strive to seek each other out, and support each other and each other's work.

But I also remember Instagram circa 2010 where little did we know we'd only have another 2 glorious years till Facebook bought it.
All might be lost over there, but I do think that Foto really is coming on as an app. I'm constantly finding new and interesting photographers.

Old school email is nice for a change, especially because recipients know they are much less likely to become distracted for longer period of time when go to Instagram or other social media/website.
