Hi! I am a photographer shooting a lot of analog within the music industry as well as a large mish mash of subjects. Would love to be considered! You can check out my work here: https://www.camillebruya.com/

I actually preferred the old analog cameras! I got great results without fiddling around with so many controls. With today’s post shoot editing programs, you can pretty much easily achieve what a digital camera can. I own a Sony mirrorless and dang it if it’s not harder to get the right settings for the situation. Perhaps it’s because with analogs, you always bought a light meter. That made it easier to know what settings to use?!

I find I get a higher number of “good and usable” images when I use film because I’m thinking more about each shot, and I don't have to spend time culling hundreds of images after a shoot. Plus the images are pretty unique, depending on the camera or film stock I use. I still use mirrorless for some things, but film can be so fun!

Hi Andy,

I very much feel the same way about Instagram…it seems to actively want me to not see the variety of artists I’ve chosen to follow in lieu of threads, videos and ads. All very sad from a photography community pov. I suppose it’s because Instagram was never really about photography rather it was about identity, and (the art of) photography was one way to stand out on there, as opposed to snaps of your friends and families on Facebook. Understandably then it’s evolved to video and whatever else.

What seems a shame is that an alternative hasn’t meaningfully taken its place and I suppose it’s because the volume of audience / reach and therefore success that exists on Instagram won’t follow. So any alternative ends up being too niche. Photographers who know what they’re doing only.

Anyhoo, 2 cents spent. Here’s my Instagram (🤣) if you’re not too inundated to take a peek.

Hello, I have a slideshow of 1,780 photos of flowers and 24K additional photos in my phone and iCloud. Thought about making a video, have thought about a book, nothing beyond thoughts. My Tumblr APP has several hundred photos and 1,800 followers, my Instagram app has 2,700 photos with 1,000 followers. I am a 79 year old hobbyist photographer that really likes photography and abstract painting. If you have any suggestions I would like to hear them. — Thank you, Melvin Gilbert

Hey Andy - I've been shooting and collecting photos for a while. Spent some time in Russia before having to relocate (for obvious reasons). Hi Andy. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and curiosity. I'd like to be featured too. I'm a Russian-born, Toronto-based photographer who specializes in magical realism. I do find that a healthy percentage of your work is about families and children. As a childless not by choice woman I started making a series about my experiences. Your first image here made me think of it right away. You have a more documentary-style love for photography while my work is different and more obviously staged. However, I'm happy to share some images with you that haven't been posting online yet.
